Scope of Practice of Nursing Home Administrators in the Fifty States Objectives: The primary objective of this study is to develop a statistical index reflecting the legal practice environment for Nursing Home Administrators as of 2003. Program Dates: December 2003 - May 2004 Staff: Paul Wing (Program Manager), Margaret Langelier Components: This study involves two primary components: Compilation of all statutes and regulations in the 50 states and DC pertaining to the scope of practice and the legal practice environment for nursing home administrators. Design and implementation of a statistical index that summarizes the statutes and regulations into a comparative index that rates states on the ability of nursing home administrators to practice autonomously.Reports/Presentations: A report will be prepared for submission to the Commonwealth Fund summarizing the study and its key findings and implications.
